Lip Sync Battle Fundraiser – What a weekend!!
Shannonside FC was delighted to work together with the Foynes and District Community Council to hold the Lip Sync Battle Fundraiser last weekend in the Southcourt Hotel. It was great to see the whole community get behind this fundraiser and the support on the night was unbelievable. The winners were Too school for Cool with our own Ian Behan and Lee O’Donnell for raising the most revenue and Karen Ward in Go with the Flo for Best Performance on the night. But every act on the night was a winner, performing on stage in front of over 500 people is no mean feat and everybody gave it 100%. The funds we raise will go towards the continuing development and expansion of the club, in line with our Club Development Plan. The funding and development of Shannonside FC is critical for the future success of the club and that is why we held this fundraiser. There is still more work to be completed on our pitch in Barrigone. Drainage, fencing, parking, lighting, fertilisers, are all necessary to bring the pitch to the standard that is required for a successfully run club. We also need to invest in the development of our players, teams and coaches. This is all as well as the sustaining costs of running a club that actively participates in local and regional leagues.
We thank you for all your support in this Lip Sync Battle event, all the businesses that sponsored us, those of you that bought tickets, voted, donated money, props and of course your precious time. To all the volunteers and their families who have worked tirelessly for the last few months on this vast fundraiser. A special mention for several individuals who contributed to Saturday nights success was Annaleigh Hanlon for hair, Brid of Brid’s Beauty Salon, Marie of La Bella, Caroline Burke Kearns for the photography, our great judges, Helena Roche, Ian Ryan and Sean Carrig, all our stage helpers, tickets sellers and vote counters on the night – thank you all!
To all the contestants for taking part – if it wasn’t for you we would not have had a Lip Sync Battle, you have been such a great team to work with and have made this whole journey a time we will never forget!
